  4. I think it's like with the rat poop in the chocolate. You eat it anyway, maybe just not as much, while seeking alternatives.

    But this was my problem with The Omnivore's Dilemma and, from what I've heard, Food Inc. has a similar issue: There's all this info on how horrible everything is but no suggestions or advice on how to do better, save canning your own tomatoes or becoming a hunter-gatherer who stalks bison and weaves her own goat-hair shirt. And while I may be up for canning, I don't think I'd look good in goat hair. And I'll never, ever quit eating chocolate, even if I'm getting more than my daily recommended allowance of rat poop in every bite.
