as god as my witness, i will never eat microwaved spinach again

Do you know what this is?

It is a stack of unread New Yorkers dating back to June 30, 2008. I will not throw them away, because I'm planning to read them. In chronological order, of course, because that is how they were meant to be read.

What I'm trying to tell you is that I microwaved spinach for dinner last night at my one-day-a-week job. The results? Flaccid. But desperate times call for desperate measures.

For example, winter. Anyone who says that puppies don't need parkas doesn't know what he's talking about. I'm looking at you, the yachtsman.

  1. What spinach isn't "flaccid" after cooking? I'm not sure it's fair to blame the microwave. As for the puppy, why isn't that boy wearing boots??

  3. The photos are from hazecam.net; for years (and I do mean years) I downloaded the Burlington photo every single morning (why? I don't know). Now I just do it when I see a good one, which I'll then crop and use to update the banner. Here's the link: http://www.hazecam.net/burlington.html.

I featured a bunch of photos from the hazecam in an old post, too: http://gruelfordinner.blogspot.com/2009/03/one-beautiful-thing-vs-thing.html

  4. Kate, I'm worried. Do not end up like this. I don't think it counts if the "papers" are New Yorker magazines, but, still...
